Enterprise Resource Planning
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software systems integrate the different functions of a business, such as manufacturing, human resources, and finance. ERP solutions facilitate the collection and dissemination of data among departments, allowing firms to more easily obtain a big picture perspective. ERP systems can be quite expensive and some work better than others for key functions. Therefore, identifying a company's most primary needs (for example, inventory control vs. order tracking) is crucial for selecting the most appropriate ERP software.
